Just in the Nick of Time

I was taking photos for my instagram this morning and I realized that there was a certain magic to reading I have taken for granted for quite a few years.   Books can transport you into a whole other world – multiple worlds.  I like to think that, in my fifteen years of reading, I’ve been a member of many adventures.

A sucker for a good time travel novella, I find myself returning time and time again to Nick of Time.  Not just because it has my favorite fictional character of all time (Commander Hobbes) or because of villainous pirates or evil Nazi submarine captains… the whole book is a gem: from the writing style to the characters.

There is always something new to see during each reading.  In fact, it was on my most recent re-reading of the book that I realized Commander Hobbes was Cornish (a stupid thing to suddenly realize, but I find it somewhat amusing nonetheless!).
