A Time Machine

I think my dad thought I was joking when I first mentioned it.  Seriously, how many times do young people my age show any interest in something other than their own time?

So, I guess I understood.

But, to see how excited he got when he did finally realize that I was serious about getting a record collection and component system, was worth the looks of “Seriously, kid?”

I think he is more excited than I am.

Things are so simple now.  We press a button and our music plays or our TV turns on.

What happened to living deliberately?

Yes, a component system will take more time than not.  And, as a college student, time is precious.

But, I’d rather take a few extra minutes to get something of serious quality than the split second it takes to press a button.
